Chapter 08 · DUTIES

Crewmember Duties

Practical ways to help the USS Typhon thrive, whatever your rank or department.

To all crewmembers: There are plenty of ways to help the Typhon. Real life comes first, so take on what suits your time and interests. If you need a hand or want to change your role, speak with your Chief.

Core responsibilities

General duties

  • Keep your roster profile current. Please make every reasonable effort to log in to the ship's roster. Update your character profile, crew photo, awards and other relevant details. Ask your Chief for help if you have trouble getting in.
  • Work with your Chief and Command Staff. Agree on the tasks you can help with. Let someone know if your plans change.
  • Join in when you can. Come along to chapter meetings, conventions and other events when your schedule allows.
  • Help with chapter projects. If you enjoy making things, help build props, costumes or displays.
  • Share what you have done. Tell your Chief about activities and achievements so your contributions are recorded and can be recognised.
  • Know the uniform arrangements. Our usual look is the Picard Season 2/3 flap-style uniform. It is required for Typhon crew attending Sydney Oz Comic Con on Saturday. On Sunday, you can wear a costume from any Star Trek era. At other events we encourage the flap uniform, but we are happy to have you along in other Trek costumes.
  • Represent the Typhon well. Treat people with respect online and in person.
  • Help at events. Lend a hand with setup, the display or pack-down if you are able.
  • Welcome new crewmembers. Introduce yourself and help them settle in.
  • Share ideas. Tell your Chief or Command Staff what you would like the chapter to try.
